This book was compiled due to a request from a university lecturer at Brighton University in the year which I think was 1998. I was at that time a student studying interior architecture, and the request until now was never complete as I was never very good at meeting deadlines, much to my detriment. Anyway, the question that was given to me was the difference between architecture and building--a question that at that time I was unable to answer and still can't. However, in order to answer this question, I embarked on a journey of research into the realms of architectural philosophy and writings, which took many years as the more I read, the more confused I became.
