Good Book To Use in Classroom Reading

This book provides a compelling look, in words and photographs, of the day in the life of a Los Angeles County public defender. I recommend this book to use in elementary school classroom reading, to open up a dialogue about the criminal justice system and how each American charged with a crime has the right to an attorney, and why we have public defenders, to provide legal counsel to those who can't afford to hire their own lawyer. Janice Fukai is still with the PD's office as of this writing (early 2008).
