Ghosts Explained by Science?

Two hundred years ago, if you had stopped someone on the streets of New York and told him you heard music coming through the air, he would have had you hauled off to the loony bin. Today, we all know that music does, indeed, come through the air and it comes to us on what we call radio waves. This is only one example of science finally catching up with and explaining what seemed like a paranormal (beyond normal) experience. It is likely that science will also eventually be able to explain ghosts, UFOs, ESP, and other paranormal oddities as "normal." This is the premise behind Marie D. Jones' intriguing book, PSIence: How New Discoveries in Quantum Physics and New Science May Explain the Existence of Paranormal Phenomena. Jones, a lifelong student, researcher, and investigator of metaphysics and the paranormal, takes the reader on an incredible voyage into the world of quantum physics. She speculates not merely that science may be able to someday prove the existence of ghosts, aliens, time travel, mysterious disappearances as in the Bermuda Triangle, and other paranormal phenomena, but that it may have already done so! Jones takes the reader on a dizzying ride through theories of multiple universes, hidden dimensions, energy fields, superstrings, Zero Point Field, wormholes, and time warps, to name just a few. She supports her ideas with the research of such eminent scientists and thinkers as Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, William Roll, J.B. Rhine, Werner Heisenberg, and Erwin Schrodinger. Although sections of the book may warrant a second reading in order to better grasp their implications, for the most part Jones cuts through the hieroglyphics of quantum physics and new science, distilling it down to an essence that can be understood by the average reader. The ramifications of the theories presented in PSIence are incredible. If these theories can be proven true, then everything we thought we knew about existence, everything we thought we knew about the nature of the universe is stood upon its head. With such potential, why wouldn't everyone read this book? PSIence is an invaluable addition to the library of anyone interested in the paranormal; I strongly recommend it. A must-read for anyone interested in the paranormal

Countless books have been written on the subjects of UFOs; ghosts; poltergeist activity; ESP; remote-viewing; Bigfoot; Mothman; and more. But few have attempted the daunting task of trying to make some collective sense of these (and numerous other) mysteries of this world and beyond. Marie Jones, however, has taken that step and has come up with a fascinating and expertly-written book that offers an ingenious, thought-provoking, and wholly plausible theory to explain the presence in our world of the aforementioned oddities. If you are a well-read student of such issues, someone with merely a passing interest in the world of the unknown, or completely new to the issues at hand, you will not be disappointed. Written with clarity, humor, and an easy to understand style, PSIence is a book that you definitely need to read if you want to learn about the groundbreaking discoveries in the field of quantum physics, and the way in which those same discoveries may finally be able to throw some much-needed light on those shadowy realms, and strange creatures that (from time to time, at least!) seemingly co-exist with us. I look forward to Marie Jones' next book; and so should you, too.

A "Must Read" for anyone seriously interested in the paranormal

Many of the words used in the other reviews such as "phenomenal" and "mind-blowing" are truly valid in describing this book. As someone who has always been interested in the paranormal (esp. ghosts, ESP and precognition) I have always felt there must be some scientific basis for people's experiences that we just don't understand yet. The author explains quantum physics in a way that makes it understandable, yet opens all kinds of possibilities to chew on. I found the concepts of multi-universes and her explaining the Zero Point Field that is all around us as an infinite source of energy and "vibrations" fascinating. The ideas of quantum physics are so interesting and the author makes a basic explanation of it very readable. I have no physics backround at all and was able to follow her presentation of various aspects q.p. I found her applicaton of theories to different "unexplainable" phenomena fascinating, and would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the paranormal.

A great book!

Marie D. Jones has done a phenomenal job of explaining complex concepts in a way anyone can grasp them. Filled with solid research, exciting theories, and even a sense of fun, this book is a primer for anyone interested in the cutting edge world of the quantum and how it relates to the world we see and experience around us, including the deep connection between we, the observer, and what we see as our "reality." A must-read for expanding minds.

Paranormal Phenomena easily explained

Ms. Jones' new book PSIENCE explains new discoveries in quantum physics and how that relates to paranormal phenomena in an easy to understand language. I found this book to be a fascinating read. I had been looking for a good book to cover a lot of the questions that I have about this phenomena, Ms. Jones really knows her stuff. She makes the material exceptionally reader friendly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who questions paranormal phenomena and wants to know the real truth.
