There's nothing static about Reformation

This book, collected from BBC programming, operates under the premise that the Reformation was more than few charged years in the 1500s. Stories stretch from the 1300s to the cusp of the present day; each looks at familiar names and lesser known people and how they changed history. Readers with little knowledge of church history will be right at home. Those with more study may find the book to be a bit brief and/or overstated. John Calvin seems to only appear as a minor player, which of course, is not the case. But all in all, this book gives a good overview of the men and women who sought to bring the church in line with with the Bible teaches. Readers will have a chance to think about the zeitgeist and the unintended circumstances that followed the reforms.
