Excellent Romantic Suspense

Wonderful characters and an interesting, fast-paced plot make this a fantastic debut. Can't wait for the next book!

An Edge of Your Seat Read

This is Kit's debut novel for Love Inspired Suspense and it is a real winner. I'll be looking forward to more books by her. The book offers a lot of suspense and you won't guess the ending. Tabitha Beaumont is running in a real marathon that consists of first swimming one mile across a cold mountain lake, then biking twenty-six miles through the Carolina Blue Ridge mountains, the running along the main street of Hendersonville and now heading up the final stretch up a mountain trail to the finish (and this tired me out just reading it). Tabitha has her doubts about finishing the mountain trail because she has completely run out of energy. Suddenly she hears some one call her name and two men dressed in camouflage were running up behind her. As they reached her they yelled that they wanted what Max had given her but she had no idea what they were talking about. Trying to outrun and escape from the men she tripped of a root and fell. That is when the men picked her up and tried to carry her off but she continued to try and fight them off even screaming to try and get someone's attention. Rory Farrell who was also running in the race had just about collapse when he heard Tabitha scream. In spite of the fact that he was nauseous and had severe cramps he turned around and went back to see what was going on. When he turned around to look he saw what appeared to be two hunters carrying a woman down the mountain but he realized she was fighting them so he went down the rocky incline to stop the abduction. At first he just yelled at them but then when they began shooting he moved in and caused the men to drop her and run. This was just the beginning of a long period of time when Tabitha and Rory were trying to figure out what was going on. Rory was a marine and an NCIS agent. Thus began an investigation into what the men wanted so badly that they first broke into Tabitha's hotel room and stole every thing in it as well as her car. Later they broke into her house and practically destroyed it. And then they tried kidnapping her again. And she couldn't get hold of her brother to find out what it was that the men thought he had given her.

Sweet Suspense

Protector's Honor is a sweet romance with a heart-skipping story. The author didn't go heavy-handed on the suspense. She offered moments of sweet relief through the ever-building romance between the hero and heroine. She did a great job plotting out the story and left me guessing who-dunnit till the very end. Ironically, my very favorite line in the book was the very last one. I won't give it away. But I don't think I've seen a more fitting "wrap-up" line in a book in years. Kudos to the author! Nicely done. If you like fast-paced suspense thrillers with a strong romantic thread, Protector's Honor is the book for you.

Each time I thought things might settle down, another twist or turn transpired, keeping me off balance and racing for the end to find out how these two likable people deal with impending disaster. If you enjoy a riveting romance with a heaping helping of suspense and strong characters who entrust their uncertain futures to the Lord, I recommend Protector's Honor.

Enjoyed this Debut Novel a great deal!

This is a fast-paced read, packed with romance and intrigue from the very beginning. I enjoyed it a great deal and am looking forward to more stories from Kit Wilkinson in the future.
