The protagonist and the antagonist play an important role in the book "Promise You Wont Tell" by Ann Reit. The protagonist is Joannna Norris and the antangonist is Betsy. The conflict between them was that Betsy didn't like Pam, who is Jo's neghbor, and Jo likes Pam a lot. Betsy and Jo don't Think the same thing about Pam.In the rise in action Pam and Jo became really good friends and during a sleepover Pam told Jo that she was afraid of the dark. Jo promised her not to tell a soul, but one day Betsy and Jo were studying for a math test , and so Jo accidentally told Betsy that pam was afraid of the dark. The climax was when Betsy told Pam that she was dumb because she was afraid of the dark. Pam was surprised that Jo had told Betsy, she got really mad at Jo and so they didnt talk for a long time, for about two months. the denuement was when Later in the book Pam forgives Jo and they become Best Friends. There are a lot of character traits that describe Jo. "You just talk, talk, talk, talk" said Pam, by looking at that quote i can tell that Jo is talkactive person.Jo is also a friendly person becuase she has a lor of friends and once Pam told her that she was too friendly sometimes. Those were some of character traits that describe Jo.I found out the explicit and the implicit theme of this book. The explicit theme is Friendship, becuase this book is about Jo trying to be friends with Pam, and at the end of the book they become Best Friends. The implicit theme is caring becuase Jo's family cared about her, when Jo was sad becuase Pam was mad at her they comfort her, they cheer her up.Those were the Implicit and Explicit themes of this novel. Two literacy devices the Author uses in this book are the following. The author used a simile when Jo said the Pam look like a princess in her Pijamas. Pam must had been wearing a pretty Pijama, because she was being compare to a princess and a princess is beutifull woman. Another lietracy device i found was a flashback because Jo remembered the day she told Betsy that Pam was afraid of the dark. That was a flashback because a flashback is the reference to a past event, and so Jo remembered something from the past. Those were two literacy devices i found in this book.I recomend this book to you, because is really good. I enjoyed reading this book, because it was easy to read, interesting, and fun. This book also teaches you something, and it is that you never have to give up on your goals. Jo's goal was to be friends with Pam, it was really hard to be friends with Pam becaue she is quiet and reserve, but Jo never gave up, and that's why Jo and Pam became best friends. I really suggest you to read this book.
