I want more

This was one of the best books I have ever read. I couldnt put the book down until i had finished it. Then I was disapointed as I could have read more but there was no more to read.... It doesnt really matter what Debbie Macomber writes all her books are wonderful to read.

Who says you can't go back again?

This Debbie MacOmber story is a pleasant revisit to the Heart of Texas series. It is wonderful to visit old friends and meet some new ones. If you haven't read Debbie's first six books about Promise, Texas, you must put them on your wish list.In this story, like the others about Promise, commitment and trust are woven into love and respect. Family is important and so are friends. I recommend all seven of these Promise books for younger readers since the heart and soul of these stories leaves the love scenes to the imagination.Enjoy! You can do nothing else in Promise, Texas.

Good to be back

I was so glad Ms. Macomber wrote this book. I had read all the other Heart of Texas books and was a little sad at the end of the last one. I felt like I was leaving Promise and all my friends behind. This book was an answer to my prayers. I think all the plotlines keep this book interesting. After all if you've read the other books you are catching up with old friends and making new ones. This is a delightful read from beginning to end. Caution: you won't be able to put this book down once you pick it up. If you've read the others you've got to go back to Promise, Tx. If you've not read the others stop by and say hello!

Easy to read and felt like you knew these people personally

Since I had read the other preceeding books, not necessary to understand the story, I enjoyed getting reacquanted with them. I also enjoyed the new characters and their stories. I also enjoyed the character of Travis and how Macomber is able to use him to tie up previous stories. I hope she countinues to write stories about different peopple and how they interweave their lives, whatever the setting. How about a second generation?

Superb return to the Heart of Texas

Two years ago in California, a car accident left her near perfect figure with ugly scars and a limp. Her spouse divorced her so when her childhood friend Dr. Jane Patterson invited Annie Applegate to relocate to Promise, Texas, she accepts and opens up a successful book store. The two precocious children of widow Lucas Porter love going to Annie's book store. Lucas, who refuses to entangle himself in another loving relationship, also cannot resist the lure of the newcomer. When his housekeeper leaves town, Lucas offers a marriage of convenience that will help him with his children while helping each other put off the loneliness of having no companion. However, this is Promise where love always enters the picture. Fans of Debbie Macomber's great "Heart of Texas" series will be elated that the awesome author returns to Promise with a fabulous novel. The story line reads more like interconnecting vignettes that only Ms. Macomber could keep interesting and straight. The brief description above describes only one of the numerous relationships that are progressing in Promise. Old friends return such as Dovie and Frank, and new buddies arrive such as Jeanie. One promise that readers know is that Ms. Macomber provides the top in entertaining relationship dramas.Harriet Klausner
