Is my computer alive?

With my TRS-80 Model 1 at my finger tips and this book besides the computer, there were things happening in my computer's memory. Almost every program describe in this book was programmed into the Model 1. With very few changes - a tweek here - a added line there, the screen came alive (?) with it's own (digital) heart beat.
