A great projeect management reference!

This is a helpful reference book. As one of the other commentors stated, it is a complete reference book on project management and is not meant to be read from cover to cover. However, it'd be good to review all of the tools that we as project managers typically forget over time because there's a multitude of tools available. It's a practical and readable reference book. A must-have for project managers who are looking to improve their game.

Project Management Communications Bible

This is an extremely well put together work. It is not only thick with communication tools relevant to project management; but, by nature it helps to further define the field of project management. The authors very effectively present solutions to all kinds of communication situations. Many tools are effective well beyond a project based environment and are effective management tools. This is a valuable resource that I would recommend to anyone.

Great book that is already paying off.

I have purchased a number of project management references in my career, including PMBOK, and most have ended up on the bookshelf. However, this book doesn't leave my side at my desk. It is a great resource that has already proven itself in my work on multiple occasions. I started by using just a few of the tools and experienced immediate results and accolades from my project stakeholders. I highly recommend this to anyone managing projects.

PM Like a Pro

This is a comprehensive project management book. It follows the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and is an outstanding reference for any one who manages big and small. There are useful methodologies, processes and templates to make planning, managing and communicating during a project much, much easier. Having learned much of this information the hard way, i.e trial and error it is great to have a go-to reference that can provide a quick refresher. I found the examples especially useful as it is not limited to large projects and can be applicable to any size project. I know the success and failure of a project is largely dependent on the project management and the communication process--this book provides a one stop shop to enable anyone to be successful.

PM Communications Bible Should be required PM reading

I got a copy of Project Management Communications Bible a week ago. I have been managing projects for about 15 years, the last 10 in the Technology space. I have always known that while I have the technical skills, that the field of Project Management is about communications. This book provides an excellent reference to map phases of the project with communication tools, for the different recipients of information (external customers, internal executives, project teams). I found a lot of new information in the book that I can see helping me on my Projects. I have added a new task to my projects in progress as well as those on the horizon to create a PM Communications Tools List Checklist to insure that I am using the tools to communicate effectively. I appreciate that many of the tools in the book have downloadable versions on the CD-ROM, many of which use the Microsoft line of software, so that I can download and edit different tools that I need. In particular, I downloaded the PM Communications Tools List, edited it in Excel, and am taking an inventory of which types of high priority tools I currently use, those I don't, those that are applicable and those that are not. It's amazing that the feedback I receive during a project is closely tied to the types of tools I use so I know where I can improve. I plan to continue to use this book as an ongoing reference guide and where I am having issues on a project, see if I can overcome them by adding some new communication methods. I can already picture the benefits of adding more communication on my projects.
