Hijinks and hilarity abound in this heartwarming romance when a woman, determined to get her ex back, starts dating his best friend - and loses her heart. Kate Perry is also the author of 'Project Daddy'.
Ms. Perry has a great voice and the ability to make me laugh aloud. I enjoyed both this book and her Project Mommy (at least I think that's what it's called).
Cute Fast Read

I enjoyed Kate Perry's first book: Project Daddy; but when i read the couple of reviews for this one where they didn't like the main character I put this book on the back burner. Then when I started reading this book, Project Date, I got so nervous that it was the exact same basic plot from Project Daddy that I almost didn't want to read it. But once I hit about the middle of the book I had a hard time putting it down. It's a light hearted read that will put a smile on your face. The main character, Philomena (Mena), has stood in her sister Daphne's shadow her whole life. But for once, her parents think something is great about Mena: her boyfriend.... who she just dumped. Whoops. Mena goes on a wild goose chase of bad dates to find someone her parents will adore and then happens to find someone better than who her parents would adore.... she find the man she loves. I'm glad I gave this book a chance. It was cute, and I really like Perry's sense of humor. I look forward to reading the next book she puts out.
A Fun Escape

Philomena Donovan gets devastated when her parents fawn over her sister, Daphne. Heck, Mena can't even get her parents to attend her graduation. Then, surprise! Mom admits she loves Mena's boyfriend. Finally, she gets the approval she's always craved. Only problem, Mena and Barry broke up! Thus begins PROJECT DATE: Mena must find her true love before Mom and Dad notice Barry's history. Next comes a series of disastrous dates that will have you laughing aloud and cheering for tech-savvy, Philomena Donovan. And when Mena meets hot boxing instructor Rio McKenna...the sparks FLY! Kate Perry does it again. She's created fun, whacky characters that deal with everyday problems like sibling rivalry, parental approval, and finding Mr. Right. If you're looking for a fun escape, I highly recommend reading PROJECT DATE.
Hysterical - Funniest book I've ever read!

My first book by this author, but it certainly won't be my last. Perry truly has an amazing talent! I laughed out loud so many times. The character of Mena really resonated with me and I especially enjoyed her techie humor. All of the characters were fun and though I grew up with a brother, I could totally empathize with Mena's sister and their dysfunctional relationship. I enjoyed this book so much that I purchased four more copies for my friends. I loaned my copy to my boss's wife and three days later he came in grumbling about how she woke him from a dead sleep because she was cracking up. If you don't enjoy this book, I will be really surprised!
Refreshing romantic comedy!

This was one of the most enjoyable books I've read all year. Project Date was fast-paced, clever, and smart, and I laughed out loud in so many spots. I loved Rio, the hero. And Mena was fresh and likeable as well, totally drawing me in and through the story. I recommend it highly.
