It brings back fond memories of my first days in the IT environment

I now have over twenty years experience in teaching computer science classes and am a full-time teacher at a four year college. This was the very first computer book I ever purchased and I look back on it with fondness. I was an undergraduate and Mount Mercy College just acquired a computer in conjunction with two other local colleges. My calculus teacher took the class to the newly installed computer center and we ran a simple program that did a numeric simulation of the idea of limits. The computer presented a BASIC interpreter as in the fundamental interface, so that was where you had to begin. I was hooked and that night went to a bookstore and purchased this book. When I got home I began working through some of the problems and the next day I was down in the computer center. This time I was typing in some of the programs and altering them to see what would happen. It was all the greatest of fun and I learned a great deal of programming as I worked through the book. Now, it is of course an antiquity, the computing world has moved far beyond what this book can offer. Nevertheless, at my time of need, it was one of the best computer books available.
