excellent book. highly recommended

i highly recommend this book for those of you who stroll underneath the covers of nt. this was one of the few books that actually explained, with simplistic but detailed enough code examples about topics that are taboo to most authors. Areas such as the eventlog, services, the underpinnings of programmatic security. Enough information is provided so as not to overwhelm, yet stir up enough new thoughts to begin experimenting on your own. *****a bonus * to the author for being available to answer email questions related to the text.
