I found it valuable when I needed to learn Ada in a hurry

When I was teaching math in the late 1980's, the computer science department at the college began offering a course in programming with Ada. Since the computer and math groups were combined, I began getting an occasional question from students in the Ada class. In order to generate some expertise in the area quickly, I checked this book out of the library and carefully read it over a weekend. This proved to be time well spent, while I was in no way qualified to teach Ada, I now understood the language well enough to answer basic questions. I had been programming extensively in Basic, Pascal and Fortran, so I found the differences in Ada fascinating and so continued to study it. At times, a teacher at a small college is required to learn material very quickly and when that happens, quality resources are a necessity. This book filled that role for me.
