"I am very grateful for Dennis Bark's book...Despite my aversion to electronics and all 'professors' I opened the Professor's 'Amazing Digial Adventure' to thumb through it to see what kind of adventure book it was. I immediately became capitvated by it and am happy to tell you that this guy changed my life! Suddenly I understand what the digital world is all about and realized that my former aversion was fear of the unknown. I called Dell and ordered my own PC and am now totally immersed in a fascinating new world on line . . . . thank you . . . for introducing me to this new world and a new dimension to my life" (Phelps Dewey -- January 2001 [Founder, Chronicle Books]

Dr. Bark's book is both fascinating and appropriate for those new to the Internet and those not. The historical information presented is well researched and enlightening; no other book about the Internet has captured this perspective. Those who feel that this book is being presented too late are mistaken. The knowledge contained between the two covers is unique, thorough, and captivating for those with curious minds. Dr. Bark's Amazing Digital Adventure is not only entertaining, but chalk full of information about the past, present, and future of our world. A good buy and well worth the money any day of the year.

Prof. Bark has managed to capture the evolution of computer and web technology in a well researched and attractive style, interweaving it most charmingly with the dilemmas and stumbles of the older generation trying to cope with concepts, gadgets, and lingo of the wired age. His own evolution from complete denial to becoming a firm believer in the benefits of this new and exciting technology is very nicely done. The book is is a must read not only for the "not quite with it" generation, but also serves as a useful perspective for the younger set who had the privilege of growing up with silicon in their bloodstream, and bits and bytes as their language.

This is a great and entertaining voyage to the world of the web and the Internet, for people who realize the Internet is something they must get involved in; but, who are not part of the Internet generation. A reader-friendly, non-technical approach.
