Nice book with real examples

After reading Inside Com, I read this book and found it easy to understand and full of useful programs and tips of how to generate files from IDL. One of the best books in market.

Excellent Book!

Extremely well organized coverage of pretty complex material. I think it did a very good job of taking the reader from native COM into ATL with well organized examples. I found the best way to go through this book is to step through the example code while reading. It is deficient in lack of material on connection interfaces ,however, what material it does cover, it covers very well. I don't think MFC exeperience is particularly needed but a good C++ background is necessary to really get the most out of the material.

Superb

A very clean, concise easy to read book. Unlike many technical books, this one does not jump wildly from subject to subject, but instead provides a clear path of evolution. Dosed with copious examples, theoretical concepts are cleverly put into the practical. Advanced programmers can skim some of the earlier 'introduction' material, but will be rewarded for not skipping it, since every chapter has something for them to chew on; beginners are carried along effortlessly. Strongly recommended!

Excellent book for C++ COM engineers

The book covers in-depth COM programming and does it in readable form. The coverage of MFC COM classes blends with ATL COM explaining in practical examples relevance of each. I would recommend this book to any serious COM programmer together with David Chappel book
