Prodigal Son

Te Mulligan has been gone from the StarMyst conclave for ten years. He did not leave under the best of circumstances. As a wild, twenty year old, Te could not control his lussor, the carnal side effect of the magic in his blood, that called for his foster sister, Jacy. Unable to stay and face the consequences, Te left and is now a computer security consultant in Chicago. Te receives a call from his foster father Edwin, who is dying of cancer. Edwin wants Te to come back to StarMyst and take his rightful place as his Second in the StarMyst conclave. Te realizes that he must face the mistakes of his past in order to claim his future in StarMyst Jacy Duwards has not forgotten the passion Te aroused in her. She has also not forgiven him for leaving. With a failed engagement behind her, Jacy just wants to live her life as she wants. She vows she will not fall for Te again, and plans to keep him at a distance. Her foster father has other ideas. He asks Te and Jacy to perform a healing ritual to help him gain strength. Both Te and Jacy agree before they realize that in order for the healing to have the most power, it must be done through sex. They are not prepared for the lussor magic to be so strong or powerful between them. Their feelings cannot be buried or denied any longer. They are mates. Not all of the conclave is happy about the renewed feelings between Te and Jacy. Another foster brother, Kade, has been acting as the conclave's Second during Te's absence. Kade is unwilling to step aside and has been pressuring Jacy to marry him. When Kade realizes that Te and Jacy are involved again, he tries to use force to take over the conclave and Jacy. Te will not lose Jacy or StarMyst. Kade has made a fatal mistake. Te's magic is much more powerful than anyone knows. Kade has hurt Te's woman and that is unforgivable. Te knows he must confront Kade. The only outcome will be either death or banishment for one of them. Prodigal Son by Mary Winter is the first in the StarMyst series. This was a very moving and emotional story that deals with love, redemption, and loss. Te is an alpha male. He will protect Jacy unto his last drop of magic. Jacy is an independent woman, who wants to live her life her way. There is conflict in the making. In the end, love, magic, and a lot of passion, make a combination that is irresistible. Ms. Winter's characters are well-written and the love scenes are very erotic and sensual. I will be looking forward to the next book in the StarMyst series! Delia reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed
