Great condition, timely delivery

I can say i was worried when i didn't receive the book for 2 weeks. But i would definitely recommend the seller. the book was in great condition and arrived before the due date. I must however caution you to pay a little extra for the 2-3 days shipping that way you wont have to wait so long to receive it.

FAST SERVICE

I RECEIVED MY ORDER SOONER THAN THEN THE POSTED RECEIVE DATE WHICH WAS GREAT SINCE THIS WAS A TEXT BOOK THAT WAS REQUIRED FOR MY CLASS AND THIS WAS NOT EXPEDITED SHIPPING. I WOULD PLACE AN ORDER WITH THESE SELLERS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

Good read albeit some of it is pretty intense....

We used this book in our Intro to IT Security class and some of the chapters will leave you slack-jawed it is so tech-jargon intense (PKI, hash methods to name a couple). This book IS a good prep for CompTIA Security+ test as I am planning on taking this test and using this book along with another. You'll spend a while digesting a couple of the chapters so be prepared to maybe read it twice- or more. I had the advantage of doing labs every class to help correlate with the book and to enforce what it says- hard to defeat the black hats if you don't know "how" they do their mischief. Overall a good book, I'd recommend it in addition to one that maybe puts some terms into more of a layman's terminology to help you get through it.

Easy Read for a Textbook :)

Out of all the textbooks that I have had to read, this is the easiest!!!! Its great (it might help that i love computers and the facts of law and especially SECURITY of ones self)! If you want to know your computer security facts get this book. P.S. I am currently in School for network security and this subject is taught by one of the only 15 master computer forensics agents in the US along with the best computer security teacher in tidewater, and this book is the best that they have found to teach the material!

Mmmm. Meaty.

This is the fourth and best book I've read on the Security+ exam content. It's a little dry, but it includes the subject matter needed to pass the certification exam. It also includes content included in the SSCP, which eases the transition to CISSP. I've met the author, a former Navy rocket scientist, and he is a knowledgeable expert in the subject area. Take a look at the team that put this book together, and you will see more PhDs and Master's degrees than at a Star Trek convention. It's a little light on firewalls, proxy servers, viruses, and VPN, but generally better the competition and worth the money. Unlike some of the other books on the subject, I will be keeping this one as a part of my library.
