An in-depth textbook that is interesting.

The Principles of Building Construction covers every aspect of most common building materials used in building construction. This is the text book to Madan Mehta's construction materials class at the University of Texas at Arlington. Professor Mehta covers the material in a clear, concise manner with many graphics. Among the building codes and formulas, much of this book is very informative and goes into depth in every area. (for example, everything you want to know about glass, from history to types of glass, to heat gain and emissivity, to bullet-proof glass.) If your in an architectural related field or just interested in building materials, you should have this book.
