Better Than Any Disney or Grimm Tale

I actually found this book at Half Price Books, but already had my "limit" so put it on my wishlist and listened to the audiobook on Libby. It was a fun change up! And man, women are amazing. The amount of control that society and men have tried to force on women is insane, and yet they keep on. It's also interesting to see how often women's legacy has literally be chiseled off the face of the earth 😳 There were so many histories that I had never heard of, though some that I had. It was still presented in a fun and challenging way, and the amount of detail into relevant social and historical context was especially helpful! I love a good powerful woman story, and this delivers EVERY time. Some suffered from mental illness, others suffered from societal norms. They all fought to achieve their goals. It's definitely one that I'm going to keep on my wishlist because I want it in my home library one day. If you're looking for a book that you can read a bunch of smaller stories that all follow the same theme, this is the book for you! Buy it for your mom, your sister, your wife, your daughters. Let them know the powerful women who have ruled this world, and those who struggled in the confines they found themselves. Disney doesn't tell it accurately, and these are way more interesting! 10/10 recommend
