We are the senior class of The Brooklyn School for Math and Research, a public school with students full of diverse backgrounds and experiences in life. Venture into our lives, as we introduce complex topics affecting New York City. Certain topics that are introduced in the book are police brutality, drug abuse, and gentrification. We made an effort to bring forth solutions to these problems and permanently instill a sense of change. We do not come from posh, affluent neighborhoods; we come from neighborhoods that have become infamous in NYC. The subjects we are going to talk about took a lot of courage to discuss. We want to enlighten readers and show that New York can raise scholars even in its worst neighborhoods.
