Dr. Massare describes the fascinating creatures that lived in the oceans of the Earth during the Age of Dinosaurs. While these animals were not dinosaurs, they were certainly every bit as large, interesting and unusual. The book is organized by time period (Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous) and discusses each of the major groups of marine reptiles (Ichthyosaurs, Plesiosaurs, Marine Crocodiles and Mosasaurs). Well illustrated with color photographs and paintings, this is an excellent resource book for juveniles and budding paleontologists. There is also a listing of museums where the fossils of these extinct creatures can be seen, a list of other references for the interested reader and a glossary of the terms used in describing these animals. This book is certainly a worthwhile addition to the library of a young person interested in learning more about paleontology.
