A pianist facing an arranged marriage crosses paths with a stranger whose probing black eyes change everything--even her fervent belief that only music could ever set her heart and soul on fire.
As in so many books I read, the theme for this story is great, with a fair mystery. A lot of the dialogue was funny as times and Aurora was outspoken with wit. Unforturnately it becomes redundant and stretched out too long. It is what I call the yo yo syndrome. In this story she is a well brought up lady who gets drunk and sleeps with a gentleman, then is so ashamed of her actions she blames him.???? All the time she insists there is no such thing as love and if so it is too temporary and maybe she will get hurt. So she decides to marry a conceited, self- centered snob, as though that wouldn't hurt her one bit???. Both hero and heroine, as always, won't tell how they feel and so the romance goes up and down and the pondering goes on and on. At least Max has more sense and is wonderful but Aurora's reasoning leaves a lot to be desired. This would have been great if Ms Doyle had cut to the chase faster.
Reading is a Precious Passion

For those of us who are true romance readers, we are aware of how we anticipate the moments we can spend reading every new novel. I found while reading Precious Passion, that there wasn't a place in the book that I felt secure in stopping. My need to get to the resolution was so great that I finished the entire book in two sittings. Ms. Doyle has the true gift of writing. She takes the reader to all levels of emotion and develops the characters to be very believable. In fact, I know people just like Aurora, Max and John!
A Must Read!

Not only is this one of the best romances I've ever read, it's one of the only ones that has made me laugh out loud...at least on purpose. Elizabeth Doyle is a real find, and I can't wait to read another one by her.
Precious Passion - romantic, funny, hot !

This book is excellent ! Precious Passion has the beauty and grace of my favorite romances; but it is combined with biting wit and sizzling love scenes to make this one of my most memorable reads in years. The book goes from laugh out loud funny to touching scenes of loss. The love scenes are too hot for words. It was excitingly different from other historical romances I have recently read. I hope Ms. Doyle can produce more books as good as this.
