What a book!

This book was great, I started not to read because of title, but my sister who is a fan of the writer insisted and I'm glad she did, a love story and adventure all in one, it explains so much about street life; it was like reading Donald Goines and Stephen King together and the sex scenes! Man this is the best book I read this year.

WELL DONE, TONY!

I totally enjoyed this book! Street, suspense, and supernatural flavors.....Whats next Mr. Lindsay?

wow

This book was more than I expected, I was looking for a thirller mystery type read, this however was political, social, sexy , street., and action. I didn't want it to end, the end however is my only problem, I wanted more. Mr. Lindsay is mixes up Chinua Achebe, Donald Goines, Walter Mosley, Zane and Iceberg Slim in this novel, this is my first read of his and I recomend it highly

To Tell The Truth

I enjoyed PRAYER OF PREY by Tony Lindsay and his previous book, ONE DEAD PREACHER. What was important and impressive to me is that the book provided a perspective of experiences that many ministers do not have - experiences that are immersed in troubles and hopelessness; yet there is still hope.My awareness of the African American street experiences is through the lens of yesteryears and Mr. Lindsay's book helps me to upgrade my understanding of what affects us socially, politically, economically, and spiritually. Historically, our ethical formulation comes from our personal experiences and the stories passed from generation to generation orally and now, from the writings of black women and men who dare to tell the truth. Just as illustrated in this writing, the truth does make us free - free to delve into the root causes of our afflictions and to bind together with compassion, encouragement, and nurturing that in time create generations of stronger black people who are concerned about the "we" and not the "me." Thank you, Mr. Lindsay.

A Playground for the Devil...

Tony Lindsay launches another novel that is filled with suspense. In his sophomore book he spins a tale of superhuman phenomenon. Johnny Lee's job is to serve and protect the people of Chicago. On this not so quiet eve his objective is to serve himself with a lovely prostitute named Pam. The night manager at the Brass Palace, a ritzy hotel owes Johnny a favor so he looks the other way and gives them the key. The next day events spiral so out of control that the only way to explain it would be absurd. Earth became the devils prey, and only a select few had the power and knowledge to fight. Prayer of Prey is a battle between good and evil. If Oka the demon is allowed to plant his seed into the chosen one earth as we know it, it will be consumed with darkness and evil. The author Tony Lindsay did a wonderful job of using real life characters such as drug addicts and prostitutes and giving them a purpose whether it was good or bad. Allowing them the opportunity to see something different and to dream a little dream. I plan to read future works by this author as he is truly awesome and totally knows how to capture his audience.
