As Halloween approaches, a dark, irresistibly evil force with a taste for human blood is unleashed on the unsuspecting world. Original. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I pretty much agree with gothamguardian's review, except that I haven't read The Wereling, so I'll keep this short and simple. I had fun reading Prank Night. I found some of the bad guys and dumb teens annoying, but they were supposed to be. It made me want the creature in the story to "get them." (I'm not revealing if it did or not; no spoilers here.) If you liked Hell-O-Ween, you'll probably enjoy this one, too. I agree, again, that some of the subplots would have been best left out, and I did notice an error around page 214, and although I don't consider this a spoiler, if you don't want to read this, skip to the next paragraph: A woman called 911 but was cut off, and when the police get to her house, they find her severed hand still holding on to the phone. When they find her body, however, her "hands" are formed into "claws." Unless I'm mistaken, I'm pretty sure the woman they find is supposed to be the one who made the call. I'd have liked more info on the creature and a couple of the characters, but all in all, it was an entertaining read. I love good Halloween horror, so I recommend this one if you do, too.
Another great scare fest.

This guy writes some GREAT Horror. His PumpkinTrilogy, as it has become known among fans, willkeep you on the edge of your seat. (The threebooks are HELL-O-WEEN, PRANK NIGHT and SPOOK NIGHT)He is a master at suspense, and no one, absolutelyno one, is better at ending a chapter with a'cliffhanger'. He'll keep you turning the pages longafter you want to turn in, guaranteed.
Another entertaining horror novel by Mr. Robbins

If you've read and enjoyed any of David Robbins' other horror novels, you will enjoy this one as well. While not quite as entertaining as his novel "The Wereling", this one is still worth a few hours of reading time. The story takes place in your typical small, backwoods town. An unknown creature, initially believed to be a bear, goes on a killing spree. As the townspeople are picked off one by one, the true nature and origin of the creature are slowly learned by the survivors.A few subplots occur, one of which is the typical "long lost high school sweethearts find each other and start their lives anew". Most of them, including this one, do nothing to advance the story. It would have been better if the author would have excluded it from the story.Overall, if you like B-grade type horror stories which are reminiscent of Saturday afternoon Creature Theatre, you will enjoy this novel.
