Well written and illustrated reference book

This is a well written and practical library-type reference book covering all types of taxidermy - birds, mammals, fish, trophies, etc. It deals with the history of the craft and several other interesting aspects. It mainly contains plenty of detail of both traditional and more modern taxidermy methods. It has a "dated" feel about it, probably because it was originally written in 1953 but has been well updated in 1979. However this doesn't detract from the author's clear style. A nice cover wouldn't have harmed any. Not necessarily for the complete beginner (for whom I'd recommend a taxidermy video first) although it is fairly easy to understand.
