Pray without ceasing?1 Thessalonians 5:17 (ESV) Pray has possibly become the stepchild of the Christian faith. As believers, we have not understood how critical, crucial and central the daily discipline of pray is to live a saved, satisfied and secure life.Prayer is essential. Just as breathing is essential to our earthly living, so prayer is to our spiritual lives. When we heard the Gospel message and believed, it is through PRAYER that we experience God, being rich in mercy and while we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 2:1-6 (ESV) Prayer is natural. Breathing consists of two equal parts inhaling and exhaling. Likewise, prayer should be as natural as talking to God in prayer and listening to God in prayer. I believe God longs to hear from us, but we ought to long to hear from Him as well. Prayer ought to be in two equal parts. Prayer is not all exhaling without inhaling. Likewise, do not limit your prayer life to just hearing from God without heeding to what God says in prayer. Prayer is seasonal. In seasons of frustration, doubt, anxiety, anger, joy, sorrow, pain, disappointment, hope, fear, dreams, brokenness and in seasons of doubt prayer works.
