I loved this quirky little book. I have come to appreciate what Earl Shorris had to say. I first bought and read the book about 15 years ago and I never forgot it. I gave my original copy away, but experiences kept reminding me of what Earl Shorris had to say, so eventually I purchased another copy. To loosely paraphrase perhaps the most important aphorism (because I do not have the book in front of me), it is not power that corrupts, but corruption that empowers.
