A Read For Everyone

This book was written to be a supplement for sociology classes, yet it has content that every American can benefit from. Refreshing is the way the authors state the problems with out playing the blame game. Many books out there today are full of conspiracy stories and pointed fingers, but this one simply states the facts about what is going on with American Economics. Another standout feature is that the book gives solutions. Many sociolgy books are good at pointing out problems, but few offer any solutions. I would recommend this book to everyone pursuing the "American Dream."

The Plight of the Middle Class Explained

This is a concise, well-written analysis of the many challenges facing the embattled middle class in the United States. Leicht and Fitzgerald summarize a wealth of economic data to support their assertions while also providing a very humane look at the ways the American family is affected by a tax and regulatory system that favors the wealthy. If this book doesn't make you go out and vote in the next election, nothing will.
