My heart is happy.

When I found out about Carol "Cookie" Cole having a child and putting it up for adoption, my mind was clearly confused. Knowing that she was adopted by the Cole's but not knowing as to "how" I continued to research. I am a Natalie Cole fan and have been all of my life. My heart breaks of her death but she was so well loved and her and Cookie were extremely close. My heart bled for Caroline but lept in happiness because her and Cookie formed a wonderful relationship and because of Caroline's upbringing she opened her self up so that she could see the "larger picture" of why her mother was the way that she was. There was plenty of tragedy. Had Cookie insisted on keeping her child she would have been able to raise her in the way she desired and not had to worry about tainting her father's legacy for he died a few months after the baby was born and would have loved Caroline until then. This is a story of love, forgiveness and knowing who was at fault for Maria took it to her grave and would never speak of it. This is a book that will remain in my library for years to come.
