Glub Glub

For those of you who have not seen the original Poseidon movie with Shelley Winters, this remake matches or exceeds the original. Unsinkable boat sinks. Some are willing to go down with it knows that they are paralyzed by the experience, and then some are adventurous survivors. Which are you? We have hours of great entertainment watching those who would survive to see if they do survive, and those that do not, how they do not. There is some emotion, some romance, some fear of heights, and so forth, but the real movie is will they get out. All the actors are quite well known and well-seasoned; the few that are new hold up just as well. The deadline is the present date, so there are no problems with Period Pieces or having to match period Costumes. There are lots of fire, lots of water, and an upside-down perspective on boating. There is no redeeming social value to this film, but it will be fun kibitzing while telling them aloud, “Do not go there! Do not open that door! Here comes the water!”
