He stops in a remote poverty-stricken village where he refuses to become part of the community. He seduces the inn-keeper's daughter with his alluring sadness, but is pursued by his wealthy wife. This version is from a literal translation by Katalin Trencs nyi and is part of the National Theatre's Channels (Hungary) season of rehearsed readings, initiated by the NT Studio and performed in the Cottesloe Theatre.
