This book has a listing of laws, rulings and acts from 1839 to present, regarding the immigration of Chinese Americans. The main part of the book is short biographies of successful Chinese Americans of varied backrounds. I first checked it out from my local public library and quickly realized that it was a great reference source as well and that I wanted to buy it. It was really cheap on line, under $10 which includes shipping. It is hard bound with high quality paper and color photos. Included with the book is a CD found in an envelope on page 226. The CD displays an electronic version of the book when you insert it in your computer's drive. It is not an audio CD. I found the book easy to read but a bit tedious towards the end, thus the 4 star rating. I like that with each person's story, their name is written in Chinese characters.
