Excellent book for beginners!

I chanced on this on sale at Hobby Lobby. At 127 pages, it is a relatively short read. ( I always read through my art books before going back and going through the exercises.) The author starts with basics. Doing contour drawings, gesture drawings, and making a value scale. I have several books on pen and ink drawing. This is the first one that has told how she does that value drawing. A+ She talks about composition, balance, and touches on atmospheric and linear perspective. A+ I found her discussion on balance fascinating. It is only 4 pages, but her examples speak volumes! Then, bless her heart, she works you through 3 small projects and 3 large projects, explaining how she builds values. This is an excellent book for the aspiring Pen and Ink artist in your life!
