Okay second book

Picked this up after reading the first book in the Stay at Home Dad Series. Sadly, I was disappointed. It was what I liked in the first book but pushed to the extreme and made some of it off-putting. I found myself cringing at some of the descriptions of people. While the first book did a good job of balancing crude with funny, this one was just almost straight...mean. Even with some of the descriptions being too much I didn't think it's the worst part of the book. The plot just felt too out there to be even remotely entertaining. I had to re-read a few pages and go back and forth. I found myself questioning the decisions being made by some of the characters constantly or why it would go to such extremes. In the end, I found myself putting this probably not reading it again pile. I honestly don't remember most of it because it was that confusing at times. I will give the writer credit for making everyone feel like people and having side characters that really lift this book enough to make you chug along. Deuce is an okay protagonist in this one, but I didn't care for him that much compared to the first one. I don't think this book deserves less than 3 stars. It still has its good moments, and again the characters are, for the most part, great, I just didn't care for the plot and some of the over the top descriptions that were unneeded. Otherwise, I'd give it a shot just don't expect to be blown away.
