Pope John Paul II is the most extensive visual diary ever compiled of this most respected of religious leaders. From his days growing up in the small town of Wadowice, Poland, to his extensive travels around the Christian world, this astounding collection bears witness to his transformation into the vicar of Jesus Christ and the Patriarch of the West. Included among the images are some of his lesser known, but equally powerful moments, such as his visit to the man who tried to kill him in 1981. Comprehensive and complete, this is a powerful compendium.

I bought this as a gift for my grandmother. She really liked it. I didn't get a chance to read through the whole thing but it's a very thick hardcover book. Lots of pictures and lots of information and facts about his life. Great tribute! These types of books are always pricey but the pictures are worth it!
