Excellent review of politics and societies in the third world.

This book covers politics and its ramifications in the third world to a degree few other books does. The book gives tremendous attention to the influence the military, as the strongest institution in most third world countries, in the overall economic and social development of many third world countries. The book is up to date and is a must read for anyone who lives, visits, or has an interest in a section of the world that is home to 80% of humanity!
