My son has the entire series of these books thus far (volumes 1-5). He loves them. Though reading them right to left was a little disorienting at first he got used to that pretty quickly. The text in these graphic novel-style book is limited and easy to read so I would say it should not count as serious reading time for your children to take credit for at school, but the illustrations, while only in black-and-white, are well-done and great fun to look through as you follow the story. And, like all other Pokemon stories it imparts the usual message of taking care of each other and helping your friends even if the story line is filled with the usual battles and a degree of violence.
thanks for selling me this item.
