Wonderful teaching text

Now out of print, so no longer of use as a class text, this collection remains my favorite source of accessible poetry for the high school or college neophyte. Excellent introduction includes a discussion of meter, diction, tone, etc., and a useful glossary in the back provides additional support for the student and occasionally the teacher. The collection, as the title suggests, is divided in half: the first part is devoted to pre-20th century poetry, including but not limited to, most familiar favorites; the second half, to more recent works. One of the best anthologies ever!
