An excellent place to start for the beginning poet.

Janeczko has created a beginner's guide to poetry for the middle to high school reader. He offers suggestions, samples, ideas, and methods for creating and understanding verse. His anthologies are marvelous collections of modern verse that will appeal to a broad range of students. Every time he publishes a book, it gets an award.
