Wacky characters come to life in this brilliant poem book.

"Poems of A. Nonny Mouse" is a wacky book of poems from the mind of Jack Prelutsky along with surreal illustrations by Henrik Drescher. This book is about a mouse that was referred to at the beginning as "Anonymous" due to the writer making a mistake of not noticing her because she is a mouse. "Poems of A. Nonny Mouse" is full of silly poems about animals, inanimate objects, and people doing silly activities. My favorite poems in this book include the poem about a woman who ate so much at a restaurant that her face turned as white as snow, the famous tongue-twister poem about how much a woodchuck would chuck, the poem about a tiger who ate a lady from Niger, and the poem about a neat lady from Crete who would stand on her head to avoid soiling her feet. Jack Prelutsky's writing is full of wacky humor and witty poems that will make both children and adults laugh at these wacky characters' antics. Henrik Drescher's illustrations work will with Jack Prelutsky's humorous poems as the illustrations are filled with surreal characters such as, human characters that are part bird as they have wings and beaks attached to their bodies, people and animals popping out of other people's or animals' mouths, and most of the characters having long, stringy limbs that bend at impossible angles. "Poems of A. Nonny Mouse" is an instant poetic treat suitable for young children ages four and over and even suitable for the adults.
