On Fridays, members of the Spoken-Word Poetry Club at Carlsbad High School share pieces of themselves in a room we've come to accept as an oasis. As students leave to their next class period, next school, next career, the pieces of themselves they've left in that room will remain. In a way that's real, young, and indescribably raw, Pocket Watch is our way of capturing the fleeting connectivity of teenagers growing up in a fast-paced atmosphere. A coming-of-age piece written by coming-of-age writers. A snapshot of the high school experience. An oasis.
