Perry and Anne Priest have been members of Wycliffe Bible Translators for over 50 years. Perry joined Wycliffe in 1953, and Anne in 1955. Their first assignment in Bolivia was to the Sirion? people. During the first years, Anne (an RN) did extensive medical work among the people; later she trained some of the people to be health workers and primary school teachers. Primers and school books were prepared, and a bilingual school was started. While Anne supervised the school, Perry worked with the Sirion? to translate the Scriptures into Sirion?. After the New Testament translation was finished, Perry was director of Wycliffe's work in Bolivia for seven years. After 30 years in Bolivia, they then went to Nigeria and began another Bible translation and literacy project among the Jibu people. They also trained disciples and evangelists. The Jibu New Testament was completed, and it was dedicated in 1998. It is being read, preached, and taught throughout the Jibu area. God has used Perry and Anne through their faithful commitment to the task of Bible translation for two of the overlooked people groups of the world. In this book you will see Perry's humor and his love for his wife, his family, the Sirion? and Jibu people, and most especially his love for the Lord and desire for all to have a personal relationship with the God he loved.
