Storyteller, teacher, and Christian

I have given many "children's times" at my church, and am reluctant to turn to pre-written sermons/stories to guide me. Loewen's writing is the exception. She has the skill to view the world through young eyes, is simultaneously thoughtful, kind and wise (but with a refreshing sense of humor and fun), and manages to translate Biblical truths in a compelling, nondogmatic way. Also, she allows much flexibility for adapting her ideas to one's own style. I have used her mini sermons on several occasions with great results (especially the ones with a STOP sign, an eraser, and keys).I also find the book a good resource for simply stimulating my own thinking as I prepare to teach our children at church.
