I love this book!

This book is one of my favorite books! This book is about a girl named Caitlin who moves to Nebraska with her sister. Her sister, Rebbeca, is moving there so she can marry Nate. After meeting Nate, Caitlin soon comes to relize that she should be the one to marry Nate. And even though Nate has feelings for Caitlin, he decides to follow through with his promise and marry Rebbeca. Caitlin feels uncomfortable living in the same house as Nate and Rebbeca so she tries to rush marrige in hopes that she can forget about her feelings for Nate. When a tragedy occurs, will it bring Caitlin and Nate closer together or further apart? I highly reccomend this book!

This is my all time fave book!

Plain Song for Caitlin is realy the best book I have ever read. I recommened ot to all my friends and they loved it too. Cailtlin is the younger sister who is strong and brave and Rebecca is the older sister who soft and acts more like a the civilived younge laddy they are ment to be in the 1800s. After the horable news of thier whailing ship thier farther was on, her older sister answers an ad to go out to the west and marry. The Nate is the name of the man Rebecca is going to marry, but Caitlin finds out that she loves him but can never tell Rebecca. This story is more than a love story it is a book on adventure and life.

Young Adult novel gives Jane Smiley a run for its money

In highly readable print, less than 200 pages, Rees covers much the same ground as Jane Smiley does in her latest novel, The All-True Travels and Adventures of Lidie Newton. The fact is, few teenagers are going to read a 450 page novel. All the emotions, the expectations, Rees puts forth here offer what we've grown to expect from any novelist -- history, intensity and romance. A true portrait of extremely difficult times.

The best book I 've ever read!!!!!!!

this book is great. I recameend it to anyone who is looking for a good romance novel to read. The book is about two sisters who go west becuse Rebecca , the oldest decides to answer a ad in the paper to marry a setteler. They go, but it is Caitlin, the youngest who falls in loove with The settelr nate Briscomb.
