Pirkei Avot, usually translated as Chapters of the Fathers or Ethics of the Fathers, is probably the best-known text of the Rabbinic era. It is a tractate of the Mishna that details the Torah's views on ethics and interpersonal relationships. Like the rest of the Mishnah, Pirkei Avot consists primarily of short statements most often attributed to Sages who lived around the beginning of the Common Era.
