The Critic is a Catholic culture/literature journal. This book is a collection of cartoons that have appeared in it, by eminent cartoonists: Bill Tidy, Joseph Farris, Sidney Harris, Rodrigues, and Charles Healy, Whether you're a Catholic or just play one on TV (or neither), you'll find something here to laugh at. About half the cartoons are non-religious.Some example cartoons:- Tarzan saying goodbye to a nun at a remote mission in Africa: "Well Jane, it was fun while it lasted." (Bill Tidy)- Unsuccessful hunter angrily listens to geese passing overhead. Car bumper sticker reads "Honk if you love Jesus". (Tidy)- Rasputin like creature silently walks on street with sign saying, not "Repent, the End is Nigh" but instead "Forget it. It's too late!" (Farris)- Erudite type to plumber, pointing at a line of toilet stalls: "Look for the one that has the quote from Kafka on the inside of the door -- that's the one that has the leak..." (Rodrigues)- In a confession box: "My son, according to our Databank, you did the same thing four years ago" (Harris)
Hilarious!
