A reflection on his childhood in the mountains of Hercegovina, while explaining the meanings of pilgrimage. This description may be from another edition of this product.
From my personal point of view, this is one of the most beautifully written books on the Medjugorje phenomenon. (For those who don't know, Mary, the Mother of Jesus has been reportedly appearing to a group of youngsters in Hercegovina, part of the former Yugoslavia.)Fr. Svetozar Kraljevic, a native of the region, who was also posted to a Croatian parish in New York, writes with passion, wisdom and lyricism. His articulation of the Medjugorje message - peace, prayer, penance and conversion to God - is wonderfully concise, lucid, yet filled with depth. To the delight of the reader, he shares his youth in the mountains of Hercegovina, his priesthood before and after Medjugorje, and nasty brushes with the Communist authorities - all with a spiritual perspective. It is a gripping read but from which important lessons are always drawn. This is a book I have read and keep re-reading, to find new things in it that speak to me. For those who know and love the Medjugorje message, this book is a must. For those who don't, this book may touch you in a way none has ever before.
