Must have for PhotoShop users.

This book covers every item available in PhotoShop. I use it as a reference frequently and I am proficient at PhotoShop. Well worth the money spent.

It is realy a Bible

This book is really a bible covering everything about Photoshop CS. All what you need to know. I have two issues about this book: it is not tailored to a certain provision such as graphics designers, photographers and so on. The second is the lack of proper classifications, for example: file formatting is explained in full details, but not mentioned in the Table of Contents. Nevertheless it is a great book for those consider themselves serious Photoshop users. Looking forward to see CS2 version of the book.

Excellent, insightful and informative

This is a great Photoshop CS book. As the other reviewer states, its not for the first time Photoshop user, but if you can handle the basics and you want to learn more, this is the book to get. I've had Photoshop for about a year, playing with it and trying to figure things out for myself, but after reading just 15 pages of this book, I learnt so many more tips and tricks - even for the basic tools! The full colour is really nice to read, and the author guides you through Photoshop in a friendly and helpful, and thankfully not arogant way. I really recommend this book for the Photoshop user keen to learn more.

Reasonable walkthrough, needs color and better examples

This book has a very thorough walkthrough of all of the features of CS. But the majority of the book is in black and white, while competitive books are in full color and a lot shorter. There are two color inserts that show the color versions of what is explained in the rest of the book. The examples are not great either. In particular the filter examples seem to have been picked to show the most dramatic effect of the filter, as opposed to an optimal use of the filter to show it in it's best form. I recommend Adobe Photoshop CS One-on-One instead.

Great coverage of Camera Raw and other advanced features

Not for newbies, but if you're serious about your Photoshop or use it in your career, this is the book to get. The thorough coverage of Camera Raw alone makes it worth the purchase price. You'll find high-end coverage here you can't find anywhere else.
