Good for beginner with lots of pictures, lacked colors!

This is one of the best books for beginners. The author presents a lot of information in about 300 pages filled with helpful examples. The screen shots are easy to follow and understand. However, may be because of cost reduction, the book is not in color, a feature that needed in graphic books. Sometimes I can't see any changes after applying an effect because the pictures are all grayish! For that reason, I give a 4 starts instead of 5.
