Teaching Kids to Read

I used it with my 3rd child, after having used other methods to teach my older children to read. I searched a lot of different curriculums before I decided to use this one. This series is by far the best I have ever seen! Why is it so good? It teaches phonics in a fun way that builds the child's confidence in his/her ability to read. Each unit teaches a new skill and that new skill is used to read a book that the child makes. This is real reading that begins in unit one. Each unit builds upon the previous skills taught. Each unit concludes with a review. The bottom of each worksheet has a "Help at Home" suggested activity. These little games and activities keep the kids working thru the lesson for the reward of "playing" (when actually, they are learning). My youngest child learned to read so well with this series, she was advanced a grade level when she tested for placement in her private school curriculum!
